METCO’s Build the safety Corridors for community project (At Koh Juan community)
In 2020, Muramoto Electron (Thailand) Public Company Limited upgraded the mushroom cultivation facility at Lamoonrodsiri School. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation, implementing the project with students and teachers became challenging. Consequently, the company pivoted to a community-based project and established the “Sustainable Mushroom Cultivation Learning Center.” This initiative involved renovating the school’s mushroom cultivation facility into a community learning center and providing support for 500 mushroom spawn bags, along with teaching cultivation techniques, maintenance, and establishing distribution channels. The project received voluntary support from company representatives, the local community, and the school in improving the cultivation facility. The project ran from June to August 2023.
Besides aiming to support the community in reducing expenses and increasing income through product sales during the pandemic, the project also fostered community involvement and enhanced relationships between the company, school, and local community.
